My Favorite Things

Food–Chocolate!  Dark is the best!  One of the best scientific finds ever is that chocolate contains healthy anti-oxidants and we should all eat at least a square a day (the minimum, as far as I’m concerned).

DrinkDiet Peach-Flavored Snapple!  I’m never without it!  I’ve been known to go to 2-3 stores looking for it when my local store runs out.  Hopefully, they’ll never stop making it.  Forget Starbuck’s, give me my Snapple!  I can’t start the day without it – and occasionally I try!  It never works for long.

Snack–Cheetos!  I love them.  I could eat Cheetos at every meal.  I’m a food nibbler, I prefer finger food over whole meals.

MusicCountry, definitely!  I grew up on country music, it’s in my roots.  My parents were big country music fans, we had friends who played in country bands, I grew up listening to Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.  They were always playing somewhere whenI grew up.  When I moved to Los Angeles, I switched to rock-and-roll but, one day, sitting in my car on Coldwater Canyon during my morning commute, I thought to myself “what am I listening to this for?  Give me my country music!”  I changed the radio to a Top 40 country music station and haven’t looked back since.

TV Show–Animal Planet is my favorite channel.  I love personal financial shows like The Suze Orman Show, and news shows like Anderson Cooper 360 and Bill O’Reilly.  I’m hooked on White Collar, Suits and Harry’s Law.  I love the FoodNetwork and HGTV channels.  Since I don’t cook, it amazes me how easily the chefs seem to be able to put together an award-winning meal for any occasion.  I love comparing home prices across the country with House Hunters, and getting design ideas from the interior design shows.

Movie–I love old movies.  I can watch the same movies over and over again if they are good.   I love drama and thrillers, particularly those in the legal and financial world.

Flower-Roses!  All varieties but the deep red ones are my favorite.  They have the best smell.  There’s nothing quite like a beautiful red rose topped by morning dew to usher in a new day.

Color-Red!  I love, love, love anything red.  Blue red, to be exact.  Followed by blue and pink.

Charity–Anything to do with animals because they need our help in so many ways.  Abused women and children because someone has to be there for them, to help them understand they don’t have to be a victim.

Wildlife–Tigers and wolves.  They are beautiful animals, so majestic.  I can’t imagine a world without either of these wonderful creatures.  I love all of the big cats living in the wild.  Penguins and dolphins are amazing, bears are fascinating animals.  Can you imagine rolling in the grass with a bear?  It’s too bad they are dangerous, they’d make great cuddlers, don’t you think?  Especially on a cold night.

Saying–It would probably be “Hold on tight to your dreams!”  My father always told me I had big dreams.  Those dreams have gotten me through some rough times over the years.  I am an optimist; I know things will get better if I can just get through the bad times and look forward to the good ones.

Exercise Routine-Running!  I’m not a runner right now, but I’ve not given up on the idea of running a 5K next year.  I also love working out on equipment.  I get excited seeing improvement and the results are awesome when you stick with it.

Season–Spring tops them all!  After a long cold winter, Spring ushers in the sunshine, beautiful spring flowers, carpets of green grass, and fresh shiny new leaves to the trees that are overflowing with the joyful music of the birds that make them their home.  It’s a rebirth of the soul and the land.

Place To Live–There are so many places I’d like to live and hope to at least visit one day, but a beachside cottage and a ranch in Colorado top the list.

Vacation Destination–Anywhere warm.  I grew up in the snow, I would rather play at the beach.

Start The Day–There’s nothing like a great workout to start your day off right.  It sets the tone for the rest of the day, don’t you think?

End The Day–See above.  It works for both questions.

Author–Me?  Is that OK?  Do you think your readers will buy that?  No?  Well, then, let’s see.  As far as fiction goes, it would have to be John Grisham, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Stephen Frey, David Baldacci, Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain, Mary Higgins Clark.  I never miss one of their bestsellers.  I wish they’d write more than one book a year, though.  For non-fiction, it varies, whatever tops the bestseller lists.  I love Suze Orman’s books.  I enjoy reading autobiographies, financial tomes, health and fitness books, books about animals.  The authors vary but the subject matters stay pretty consistent.
